So it looks like one of the last things I will do on the trans am this year will be polyurethane bushings.

Trouble is, kits don’t come with sway bar bushings due to the varying sizes. Most everyone recommends changing all bushings at once, but does it matter if I do the sway bars too?

I ask for financial reasons, I would like to upgrade my bars one of these days and would prefer not to buy the same shit twice right now.

Upgrade the bushings when you need to. Just use the ES Master Kit and you should be good to go.

That's what I was planning on. This + subframe connectors + solid body bushings should make her handle like a dream again.

pretty much. I mean you could run without sway bars entirely and it wouldn’t be too big a deal (so long as you didn’t expect it to, you know, handle). My 2 cents is that poly isn’t all its cracked up to be though. The harsher ride does bad things to components over time...which is why rally cars don’t use them.

I would like to do all new pro touring f body suspension at some point, so I'm not too worried about breaking anything. Benefits of running a car with an aftermarket.

fair nuff, just my 2 cents. I used to oly all the things, but now I don’t if I have a choice...that being said, for street only and no cares about NVH, its probably the way to go.

IMO, run solid subframe bushings if you are going to run subframe connectors. No rubber, no poly.

Global west or DSE.

Doesn’t matter too much if you run rubber sway bar bushings, you can just upgrade them later when you upgrade your bar(s).

I'm getting solid bushings and connectors from pro touring f body, that's who all the forum guys recommend.

PTFB is great too. Really almost any kit except the CE ones.

Start spraying the bolts with PB right away :)

Sway bars can be done whenever. They’re the easiest of all the ones to change anyhow.

That makes me wonder if the kit for my car has them in there...

I see links in the picture I took years ago when cataloging all the bits that came with my car... but never really went through it. Sure looks like they aren’t in there.

Are you trying to get one of the stiffest/harshest rides possible?

Well I didn't buy a Cadillac lol. I actually like stiff suspension, it gives me peace of mind.

Energy suspension does say they don't include it. Comfortingly, they are in the best shape of any of my bushings.

At least yours has a kit. When I did bushings on the ModBox I had to buy them all separately.

Poly bushings made my ride BETTER actually.

Nah, you’re fine not doing them all together. Some F-bodies didn’t even come with sway bars so you’re good. Also, be careful with installing them. Rust is a huge problem with these things and the only way to fix some of the nuts is to cut holes in the floor of the car. I’m all for a compliant suspension, I just think fresh OEM rubber bushings are a huge improvement in themselves. In the 02 sphere, unless you are racing, we stick to OEM rubber. I beefed up my springs, shocks and sway bars, though.
